Chef Yap was born and raised in New Orleans with a passion and drive for cooking. Chef Yap is no stranger to addiction and the struggles of life. These struggles are what led him to Positive Direction. Proudly being an alumnus of Positive Direction, Chef Yap now enjoys his time preparing food and enriching the lives of the men daily. Yap continues to be a positive role model to all the men coming in to show them what an amazing program we offer and what they can all achieve if, they put in a little willingness. When asking Chef Yap to give guys just coming into Positive Direction or thinking about coming to Positive Direction some advice, he had this to say, “PD is an awesome place if you let go and want it, it can change your life; I’m a prime example.”.
Below are just a few photos of the exquisite cuisine Chef Yap has prepared for the men. As you can tell from his work, this is what sets Positive Direction apart from other treatment centers. We have a firm belief restoring mind, body, and soul are the fundamentals of recovery.
